RNAdb 2.0 - A database of mammalian noncoding RNAs

In June 2012, the RNAdb 2.0 database was officially retired.

RNAdb 2.0 was published in Nucleic Acids Research in 2007 with the following citation:

Pang, KC, Stephen, S, Dinger, ME, Engstrom, PG, Lenhard, B, Mattick, JS (2007). RNAdb 2.0--an expanded database of mammalian non-coding RNAs. Nucleic Acids Res 35: D178-182.

This website serves to archive the final snapshot of the RNAdb 2.0 datasets for legacy purposes. It will remain active indefinitely.

Since the publication of RNAdb, the noncoding RNA field has undergone exponential growth. Numerous specialized databases that provide detailed and up-to-date information on different classes of noncoding RNA better serve the community than what can RNAdb can sustain. We have focused our attention on curating information on long noncoding RNA. Our database on long noncoding RNAs is available at lncrnadb.com.

Plans are afoot to provide a centralized database that collects RNA data from each of the specialized databases. For details about this initiative, named RNAcentral, please refer to the following publication:
